These are the rules behind every code, deal and sale date on the site. They explain what we test, what we publish, what we take down, and how money fits in.

What this policy covers
This policy applies to everything we publish on googlycoupon.com: coupon codes, store pages, the sale calendar, bank and card offers, and our guides and articles.
Our aim is simple. When you copy a code from googlycoupon, it should work, and you should be able to see why we think it does.
02
Where codes come from
We collect codes from four places:
Brand newsletters and emails that stores send to their customers.
Affiliate feeds from the networks and stores we work with.
App banners and on-site offers that stores show to shoppers.
Shoppers like you, who send us codes they have found.
Where a code comes from does not change what happens next. Every code, from every source, waits for the same test.
03
How a code gets published
A code has to get through each of these steps. It can fail at any of them.
We try it in a real cart. A tester adds real products and applies the code at checkout. We stop before payment.
The total has to change. If the code is rejected, or the cart total stays the same, the code is not published.
We record the receipt. The cart total before the code, the total after it, the time of the test and who ran it.
It goes live with that receipt. The receipt sits under the code, so you can check our work before you copy it.
No cart, no listing. If we haven't tried a code, it doesn't go up as a working code.
04
What our labels mean
These are the exact labels you will see on store pages and the sale calendar.
Worked
The code changed the cart total in our most recent test.
Didn't work
The code was rejected, or the total stayed the same. It comes off the page.
Not tested yet
We have the code but haven't run it through a cart yet.
Our estimate
A sale date we expect from past years. The store hasn't announced it yet.
Announced by the store
The store has announced these dates itself.
Bank and card offers depend on the store and the bank. We show the conditions we know about, like minimum spend and eligible cards, but the bank's own terms always apply.
05
Re-checks and removals
Codes stop working all the time. Stores end offers early, change the terms, or cap how many people can use them. So we keep checking codes after they go live.
If a code fails a re-check, it comes off the page straight away. We would rather show fewer codes than show you one that wastes your time at checkout.
A code can still stop working between our checks. That is why every code shows when it was last tested, so you can judge for yourself.
06
Money and independence
googlycoupon is free for shoppers. We earn money in two ways:
Commission. We may earn a commission when you use a code or link on googlycoupon.
Partners. Some stores work with us directly and pay when a shopper uses their code. You can read how this works on our Partners page.
Money never changes your price, and it never decides which codes we publish. A partner's code goes through the same checkout test as every other code, and comes down the same way if it fails. Being a partner is not a way around the test.
07
Codes shoppers send us
Found a code that worked for you? You can send it to us. It will wait for its first test like any other code, and it only goes live if it works in our cart.
We don't publish your name or email with a code you send us.
08
Corrections
If a code didn't work for you, or something on the site is wrong, please tell the test desk. A person reads every message. Reports of failed codes are handled first: we test the code again, and take it down if it no longer works.
When we get something wrong on a store page, a sale date or in a guide, we fix it.
09
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as googlycoupon grows. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Spotted something we got wrong?
Tell the test desk. Failed-code reports are re-tested first, and taken down if they no longer work.
